Malagasy, Bara is a language of Madagascar. It has over 724,000 users in the Atsimo-Andrefana, Ihorombe, Anosy and into Atsimo-Atsinanana regions: west of Tesaka [tkg] language area; Amoron’i Mania, Menabe, and Vakinankaratra regions; some in Androy and western Haute Matsiatra regions.

Lexical similarity: 69% with the Merina dialect of Plateau Malagasy [plt]. A member of macrolanguage Malagasy
